Police warn about possible 'Molly' drug in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE

Police say taking the drug can results in unusual strength, a high tolerance for pain, and the inability to communicate.

Right now, all police know is that the two incidents in which they believe they've encountered people on this drug trace the drug back to the Bonnie Doone area of town. That's where they think it's being sold and consumed.

The two incidents have happened within the last couple of weeks, and the side effects have police likening the drug to an ecstasy-type substance called "Molly."

"These individuals had great strength, when they had to be detained it took multiple officers to get them into custody," said Fayetteville Police Department Lt. Todd Joyce.

One of those incidents, two weeks ago, resulted in a four-hour standoff with police.

If you know what this substance is or you've observed this type of behavior in someone, police want to hear from you.
