Disabled man's dog snatched from soup kitchen

RALEIGH, N.C.

Earlier this week, Roderick was leaving the Shepherd's Table Soup Kitchen in downtown Raleigh when he realized he forgot something. He tied up "Bud" and went back inside for a minute. When he came back, Bud was gone.

The executive director of the Shepherd's Table said she is worried about Roderick.

"He's just emotionally really, really upset, as you can imagine. It's not just a best friend like it is for most of us, it's a dependency of life for him. This dog helps him get from place to place and protects him physically," Tamara Gregory said.

Gregory said her staff contacted local animal control, put up fliers, and circled the city looking for Bud.

"We're just hopeful and praying that someone will bring the dog back," Gregory said.

On Friday, someone returned Bud to the soup kitchen and Roderick now has his best friend back.
