Detectives have a warrant for 37-year-old Lanson Paul Stalf charging him with common law robbery.
Four nearby schools - Wake Forest Middle, Heritage Elementary, Heritage Middle, and Heritage High School - were put on lockdown for almost an hour as a precaution after the holdup.
Anyone with information on Stalf's whereabouts is asked to contact the Wake Forest Police Department at (919) 556-9111.
