Body found in Garner home under eviction order

GARNER, N.C.

A police department spokesperson said around 10 a.m. Monday, a Wake County Deputy met with a realtor at a home at 104 Dunnsbee Drive to change the locks on the property which was under an eviction order.

When the deputy entered the home, a loud noise like a gunshot was heard.

The deputy retreated and called for assistance. Police said they notified residents to shelter in place with reverse 911 calls.

The all-clear was given around 1 p.m. Police said when a SWAT team entered the home, a man's body was found with a single gunshot wound to the head.

The identity of the man was not immediately released. Investigators said it was likely a suicide.

No one else was injured.
