CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- A teen got the red carpet treatment Wednesday as he headed home from UNC Children's Hospital with a new heart.
Albert Jeffries, IV, or "Alj" as he prefers to be called, has been in and out of UNC Children's Hospital ever since he was born 13 years ago. Most recently, the teen waited months for a new heart.

Alj has a condition called dilated cardiomyopathy. Wednesday, he finally left the hospital and got a ride back home to Burlington in a limousine.
Alj's mother, Tina Turner, is looking forward to taking her son on new adventures.
Doctors said Alj's prognosis is good now that he has a new heart.
