Police say Larry Smith, 54, was shot twice in the abdomen while getting out of his truck. He stumbled into Hardees and called 911. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He is expected to recover.
The suspect, 20 year old Donte J. Lucas, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
