The accident happened at about 12:45 p.m., at Union Chapel Road and St. Anna Road.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troopers tell Eyewitness News that two people, a man and a woman were killed. Their ages are not known.
Troopers say there were crossing arms at that intersection, but they don't know if they were working or not.
No one on the train was injured.
