Forty-nine-year-old Dennis Simmons of Fayetteville was arrested after the victim reported the alleged crime. Investigators say Simmons gave the 15-year old girl a ride home from school after a basketball game.
He reportedly fondled the girl and asked her to engage in a sexual act with him.
Simmons is charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor and kidnapping. Both charges are felonies.
He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court today at 2:30 p.m.
