Ammunition in house where child died

RALEIGH The items were taken from 1123 Ujamaa Drive. Records show the house is owned by Hinton's grandmother.

The boy's father, 26-year-old Eric Hinton is charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly leaving a gun where the boy could find it.

Also found in the home:

  • A digital scale with a razor inside
  • A copy of a previous arrest warrant for Eric Hinton
  • A letter addressed to Eric Hinton
  • 2 cell phones and a charger
  • A disposable camera

Investigators first learned of the shooting when one of Pharrell's older brothers called 911. They say Eric Hinton couldn't legally own a gun because of his criminal record. He has arrests for drugs, trespassing, larceny and possession of stolen property.

Funeral services for Pharrell Hinton were held Friday afternoon.
