State will hold your campfire spot

DURHAM According to a report in the Winston-Salem Journal, a new reservation system will go into place beginning April 22. It'll be used to assign campsites, cabins, and shelters at all 37 state parks.

Most of the state's 3,000 campsites will be assigned with the system, but a few sites at some parks will be reserved for walk-up registration.

Users will be able to go online to make their picks. The website will include a brief description of the campsites and site maps so that people can choose a specific spot.

The system will be paid for with a $3 surcharge for each night's stay.
