Beltline ramp closes temporarily

RALEIGH The Department of Transportation said the closure will begin Jan. 8 and last about four weeks. The on-ramp from I-440 (Outer Beltline)/U.S. 1 (Exit 1B) onto I-40 West will be closed for the installation of a new drainage system.

Motorists should use the Wade Ave. (Exit 4B) as an alternate route.

A detour will also be in place for motorists who are past the Wade Avenue exit. They will be directed to take Exit 1A onto I-40 West.
