Funeral held for Race for Cure founder

CHAPEL HILL Jeanne Peck died Sunday after a hard fought battle with lymphoma. Funeral services were held at the Barn at Fearrington in Pittsboro.

The 52-year old peck, who was a breast cancer survivor, brought the Race for the Cure 13 years ago after attending a similar race in the early 1990s.

The Triangle Race has grown from 2,600 to 24,000 participants and the money raised has grown from $100,000 to $2 million.
