Police respond to a disturbance near RDU

RALEIGH Officials said the disturbance was an attempted carjacking that happened around 10 p.m.

RDU officials told ABC11 Eyewitness News that two RDU parking employees were leaving Park and Ride 3 in an unmarked RDU vehicle when they were approached by an individual.

They said the workers suffered minor abrasions, but the origin of the wounds are not known.

Police put out a BOLO for the suspect described as a African American man wearing a green and black camouflage face mask, gray hat and gray jacket. They said he may be in his 20s to 30s and stands 5 feet 6 inches tall.

Officials said the suspect had a .22 caliber handgun and fled the scene on foot.

RDU police, along with officers from Cary, Morrisville and the highway patrol were at the scene investigating.
