Sheriff Lane Carter says his office first received the report on February 28.
The incident involved a 5-year-old and allegedly occurred inside the home of 69-year-old Dallas Mofield, a registered sex offender.
Mofield's wife, 61-year-old Virginia Mofield, was the child's babysitter.
Dallas is charged with second-degree sexual offense, sexual offense with a child, indecent liberties with a child, sexual battery and child care in the home of a sex offender.
His bond is set at $5 million and his court appearance is scheduled for March 10.
Virginia is charged with babysitting in the home of a sex offender. Her bond is set at $100,000 and her court appearance is scheduled for April 1.
