Deputies responded to a shooting call in Lillington around 12 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived at the scene, they found 29-year-old Glen Shonta Elliott of Fuquay-Varina dead from a gunshot wound.
A second victim, 29-year-old Anthony Ryan Elliott of Lillington, also suffered a gunshot wound, but drove himself home for help. He was taken to the hospital and released.
An investigation revealed the victims argued with a third person in a parking lot at the intersection of NC 27 west and Spring Hill Church Road.
Deputies arrested 37-year-old Daniel Wayne Dority later that day. He is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
Investigators say Dority and the victims had an argument during a drug transaction.
Investigators found cocaine and marijuana at the location of the shooting and at Anthony Elliot's residence.
