Two arrested after shooting, chase

CUMBERLAND COUNTY Police say as they were en route to the business just after 2 p.m., the suspects fled the scene in a rented grey Galant.

Witnesses reported that the suspects' vehicle headed east on Raeford Road and turned onto Robeson Street where police attempted to pull over the vehicle.

Authorities say the suspects then turned onto Bragg Boulevard and attempted to turn onto Blue Street at a high rate of speed before crashing into a Chevy Camaro parked at Sharkey's on Bragg Boulevard.

Police then apprehended the two suspects, 39-year-old Ozzie Lejuan McKinnon and 35-year-old Keithan Nathaniel Dennings, from the vehicle.

McKinnon was driving the vehicle and Dennings, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was wanted on arrest warrants from South Carolina and faces possible extradition.

McKinnon has been charged with multiple traffic violations including fleeing to elude arrest, speeding and several traffic light violations.

The victim of the shooting was grazed on the foot by a ricocheted bullet and refused to cooperate; therefore no information on the victim has been released.

McKinnon and Dennings are currently in the Cumberland County Jail.
