Man captured after Raleigh bank robbery

RALEIGH

The man was last seen fleeing on foot behind the shopping center in which the bank is located. Police believe he escaped through a hole in a fence leading to an apartment complex.

Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed bundles of cash on the ground and red dye where a dye pack inside money from the robbery exploded. Witnesses said the suspect took off some of his clothing after the dye pack exploded.

Over a dozen officers and the SBI were involved in the search which lasted for hours. Police arrested 33-year-old Jason Trent Goodine less than a mile from the scene around 1:30 p.m.

They say when they caught Goodine, he had none of the money and no weapon, but they say he was easy to spot nonetheless because of the dye.

Authorities charged him in connection with Friday's bank robbery as well as one committed at the same location on June 23. Goodine is currently in the Wake County Jail.
