Larry Maurice Saunders, of 106 Day Circle, was arrested Monday afternoon.
Detectives say he shot Javon Thomas Young in the lower back August 26. Young is getting treatment at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Saunders is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail and held under a $1 million bond.
