NCCU cancels classes for remainder of Thursday

DURHAM

Morning classes were originally canceled just after 7 a.m. and the University thought it would be able to resume operations by noon. However after making repairs, the school decided to cancel classes.

University officials say in order to "allow adequate time for testing, and the phased resumption of service, all afternoon and evening classes have been canceled."

Classes will resume Friday, September 3 as scheduled. If that changes, the university says it will notify students.

The football game scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday will proceed.

SPA employees and EPA non-faculty may use compensatory time or paid leave balances to cover any absences incurred.

Officials have not said what caused the outage.
