Troubleshooter: VIP treatment

CUMBERLAND COUNTY The Wilmore family says they didn't mind paying the extra money, if it meant VIP treatment.

The band Creed performed live in Raleigh last summer and Jim Wilmore bought the tickets for the concert right when they went on sale.

"We're big Creed fans," he said. "I bought the Silver VIP package and with the package, you would get an autograph poster of all the band members."

Wilmore bought six silver VIP tickets and paid $77 for each one, for a total of $466.

"Day of the concert we showed up at the will call ticket booth and the only thing they gave was us the silver VIP laminated ticket," he said.

Wilmore says the VIP laminated ticket was all they got for their VIP package -- no autographed posters or anything else VIP.

"When I talked to the people around us, they were all disgusted they received no VIP treatment," he said.

Wilmore's tickets say they are worth $26, so he says he is left wondering why he paid $77 per ticket.

"We got nothing in return," he said. "Once the concert was over, I continued to e-mail Creed World and Live Nation and we received no replies."

Nearly six months after the concert, Wilmore still didn't have his autographed posters he was promised as part of the silver VIP package.

"I wanted to get the posters; I thought it would be neat for my sons to have the posters," he said.

So Wilmore got in touch with ABC11 I-Team Troubleshooter Diane Wilson, and she contacted Creed World, the company in charge of the VIP packages.

"Within 2 days I get a call from Creed World," Wilmore said.

The call led to Wilmore getting six autographed Creed posters, plus Creed CD's and other memorabilia.

"Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it," Wilmore said. "Diane Wilson, the Troubleshooter, rocks!"

A representative with Creed World apologized for the delay and said in their system it said the posters had already been sent out. And said he didn't know why Wilmore didn't receive them initially.

The rep also said he sent extra goodies like the CD's and Creed bag for Wilmore's troubles.

The best advice when buying concert tickets, before you buy look exactly what you're paying for. While it says you'll get the VIP treatment, see if the price is worth what you're getting.
