Fourth person charged in Wake County murder

WAKE COUNTY

Miguel Antonio Meza-Rodriguez, 20, of Durham is charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held without bond.

Earlier this week, authorities arrested a teenager and two of his family members in connection with 44-year-old Santiago Hernandez-Arredondo's death. He was shot and killed inside a home in the 4000 block of Durham Road near Highway 98 Sunday morning.

Pedro Tur Fernandez, 18, is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is currently in jail under no bond.

Fernandez's stepfather, Tirso Mondragon-Cuevas, 43, and Fernandez's uncle Rene Mendoza Lopez, 30, also are charged with conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and accessory after the fact to murder. They are currently in jail under a $1.5 million secured bond.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting or how the suspects may have known the victim.
