More than a thousand farmers across the state spent Monday in Greensboro for the annual North Carolina Farm Bureau meeting.

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr and Gov. Beverly Perdue were among the many elected officials in attendance.

North Carolina ranks second in the nation for both Christmas tree and turkey production.

Also at the meeting, Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler announced that he would seek re-election in 2012.
