The fire marshal said one of the family's three dogs started barking when their Willow Springs home caught on fire around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Two adults and one child managed to get out safely, but only one of the dogs was able to flee from the burning house.
The family's other two dogs died.
Officials said the home was destroyed.
