Wake County school buses vandalized

WAKE COUNTY

On Sunday afternoon, officials discovered 19 buses parked at Green Hope High School on Carpenter Upchurch Road had been spray-painted with words like, "FreshMAN Friday IS REAL."

Wake County school officials told ABC11 that eight mechanics were called in early Monday morning to remove the graffiti marks from 18 yellow school buses and 1 white activity bus.

The cleaning caused some early-morning routes for Green Hope High School to run late, but they were soon back on schedule in time for Green Hope Elementary School students. Some of the buses are also shared with Apex schools.

Authorities currently do not have any suspects. An investigation is ongoing at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Town of Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at (919) 226-CRIM(E).
