Kidnapping ends in fatal shooting in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE

Police said 27-year-old Errol Williams, of Rockingham was kidnapped from the parking lot of the Kangaroo convenience store at 5642 Bragg Boulevard on Sunday around 4:45 a.m.

Police said three men in a gray/silver newer model Kia Sportage were the kidnappers.  Two got into Williams' vehicle and forced him to drive to the area of Gregory Street. When they got there, Williams tried to flee to safety and was fatally shot.

Surveillance video from the Kangaroo convenience shows one of the suspects and the Kia Sportage.

Police said the suspects went back to the same convenience store just after 3 p.m. Sunday and stole the store's video surveillance system. While they were in the store, they also robbed two more people.

The suspects then left the store in the same Kia Sportage.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting or the identity of the suspects / vehicle is asked to the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 988-6543 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477). The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
