The Durham Police Department said Monday it has charged a 16-year-old in a shooting earlier this month that left a man dead.

Markecio Barker, 16, of Durham, was captured by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force.

Barker has already been indicted by a Durham grand jury on a murder charge along with 21-year-old Christopher Alexander Hicks.

Investigators say the pair is responsible for killing 22-year-old Jevontez Deshawn Massey. He was shot November 5 at Morning Glory Avenue and Belt Street around 3:45 p.m. Massey was declared dead at the hospital a short time later.
