Firefighter injured in Fayetteville blaze

An apartment fire in Fayetteville Monday evening left one firefighter injured.

It happened just before 6 p.m. in a second floor unit at the Carriage Hill Apartments complex in the 2100 block of Elvira Street.

Five of the eight apartment building's units were damaged, which displaced 19 people.

Everyone inside managed to get out safely.

One firefighter was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of a back injury.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No damage estimates were available.
