Police have charged a Raleigh man with threatening Mayor Nancy McFarlane.

Arrest warrants say Alec Dane Redner, 27, sent McFarlane messages by mail and website submission form threatening serious bodily injury.

The warrants don't say why.

Bond was set at $250,000. Bond documents say Redner has a history of extreme violent behavior and he was ordered to have no contact with McFarlane whatsoever.
