Thomas McLean is charged with fleeing and eluding arrest.
Wake County Sheriff's deputies say he drove right through a checkpoint around 2:45 a.m. Saturday on Cary Town Boulevard near Interstate 40.
Deputies chased after him, until they say McLean crashed his van near Heater Park in Cary.
