Body camera footage shows nine members of a U.S. Marshals Service task force falling to the ground as a second-story wooden deck they were standing on suddenly collapses.
Friends, family and law enforcement officers gathered in Charlotte to remember the life of Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas "Tommy" Weeks.
Person County Sheriff Jason Wilborn said what happened to those members of a U.S. Marshals Task Force could have just as easily happened to his own officers.
"We're trying to reach at least a quarter of a million (dollars) because this has to be split up between children and four wives," one organizer explained.
Authorities took Kenneth Heath, 24, of Durham, into custody on Friday in the 1100 block of Golden Crest Drive.
Police told ABC11 in February that there was a history of domestic-violence calls at the home. Police said the victim was Blakely's domestic partner.
