The body of Benita Knight was discovered around 6:29 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. Officers were initially called in reference to an unresponsive person behind The Guiding Light Church on Ivy Street.
Upon arrival, they discovered Knight's, body. She was deceased.
A cause of death has not been determined and her body was transported to Chapel Hill for an autopsy.
