Boy injured in hit-and-run accident

DURHAM Durham Police are investigating a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that occurred just before 3 p.m. Sunday. The victim, a 13-year-old male, was hit while riding a bicycle.

He was transported to Duke Hospital and is in critical condition. The boy was traveling west on Southgate Street when he was struck by the vehicle traveling north on N. Maple Street.

The vehicle is a possible champagne colored older model Honda Accord and should have heavy front end damage and a shattered front windshield.
