Two men killed, two injured in shooting

Durham Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex that killed two men.Four men sustained gun shot wounds outside of an apartment on Glendale Avenue around 11:20 p.m. Saturday.

Shelton Henderson Jr., 19, was found dead at the scene. Nathan Elmoore, 17, was transported to Duke Hospital. He died Sunday morning.

Christopher Hunter, 16, and James Downey, 21, were treated at Duke Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have charged Deamonte Tavaris Brooks, 18, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and 2 counts of inflicting serious injury for the shooting of the two survivors.

Dylan Shaquan Turner, 17, has been charged with possession of a firearm by a minor.

The investigation into the two homicides is still ongoing.

Raleigh's News and Observer reports that Henderson is the younger brother of Demario Atwater. Atwater is charged in the death of UNC student body president Eve Carson.
