Jeffery Brent Godwin, Sr., 40, of Deep Creek Road, is charged with two counts of statutory rape, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, and five counts of facilitating the prostitution of a minor.
He works in the mailroom of the Cumberland County School System’s headquarters on Gillespie Street.
Investigators say Godwin would pick up his 15-year old victim at her home and drive to a local motel. He paid her differing amounts of money to have sex with him. The pair also allegedly had sex in his truck at a remote location out in the country. The encounters began in December, 2007 and continued until this spring.
Godwin is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $110,000 bond. A first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
