Your Money: Halloween costume savings

Hughie & Louie's Costume Shop in Raleigh is offering the hottest costumes, like Michael Jackson. Owner Louie Bowen said the store has a sea of accessories so anyone can come up with a myriad of costume ideas for just a couple of bucks.

From $3 colored hair spray, to $.50 plastic vampire teeth and $7 make-up kits for fake wounds, anyone can be anything they want for Halloween.

Bowen also suggested a simple plastic mask paired with a white sweat suit can transform anyone into a white cat for $4. Trick-or-treaters can be a hippie or Charlie Chaplain for as little as $3. All it takes is a little creativity!

If those ideas aren't the costumes you're looking for, there are numerous Halloween Web sites.

Discount chains, like Wal Mart and Target, have competitive prices and ample selections online, including free shipping in many cases.

Another great Web site that offers costumes for under $5 is Buycostumes.com. It's currently running a promotion -- 5 costumes under $5. But when they're gone, they're gone so you better hurry and get yours.
