NC State put on alert after bank robbery

RALEIGH Authorities say just before 11:30 a.m., a man armed with a handgun entered the State Employees Credit Union on Hillsborough Street.

After robbing the bank, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen running north on Brooks Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s with medium to dark complexion. He is said to stand between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and said to weigh 190-220 pounds.

Surveillance photos show the suspect had a small amount of facial hair and was wearing a black Nike hoodie, light-colored blue jeans and black shoes.
