Man arrested for allegedly shooting at deputies

Fayetteville police have arrested the man who allegedly fired a gun at off-duty deputies at a Waffle House earlier this month.

Investigators said deputies L. Tuisasosopo and T. Stiokis were working at the restaurant on Yadkin Road on Dec. 2 when 24-year-old Donquiez Frankie Wilbridge allegedly fired multiple shots at them.

On Tuesday, authorities arrested Wilbridge at a Motel 6 on Cedar Creek Road.

He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill, assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Wilbridge is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $287,000 secured bond.
