Big reward in Durham cold case

DURHAM COUNTY

The body of 44-year-old Wanda Rose Spence was found wrapped in plastic by a work crew next to Old Oxford Highway, near the intersection with Hamlin Road.

Investigators say they believe the killer didn't act alone and that Spence may have known her attackers.

Her young children were left alone after her disappearance..

"They were left alone in the house for almost two days until family came by to check and that's when they found them by themselves," said J. Smith with the Durham County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Durham County Crimestoppers tip line at (919) 683-1200.
