Crash shuts down I-95 near Wilson

WILSON COUNTY, N.C.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol says two trucks collided near mile marker 107 at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when one merged in front of the other.

The cab of the second truck was pushed under the other, and the second driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after emergency workers spent hours freeing him from the wreckage.

A third tractor-trailer got tied up in bricks that fell off one of the trucks in the first crash.

The lanes were shut down for about six hours while crews cleaned up spilled bricks and diesel fuel. The road was opened at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
