Officers were dispatched to a shooting call around 9 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a man shot and lying on the sidewalk. The man, Sean Kali Buwe, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, Buwe was walking on Liberty Street when another man dressed in dark clothing got out of a burgundy van or SUV and walked up behind Buwe. The man shot Buwe and then got away in the vehicle, which was driven by another person, according to witnesses.
No charges have been filed at this time.
