Sheriff: Man shoots woman, commits suicide

LOUISBURG, N.C.

Officials say Brandon Teasley shot his girlfriend Brittany Williams before turning the gun on himself. Both are 21 years old.

Sheriff's deputies witnessed the shooting and both people were taken by ambulance to WakeMed. It happened around 8:30 p.m. off Highway 98 and Curtis Road.

Franklin County deputies were called there for a report of a domestic dispute. Sheriff Jerry Jones say the two were arguing, when Williams ran across the street to a neighbor's house. Teasley then shot her in the chest while she was on the porch of the neighbor's house, before shooting himself in the head. The couple's 18-month-old child was in the car during the shooting and remained unharmed.

Williams remains in the hospital in fair condition. Teasley died at the hospital.
