Child hit by car in front of school

A parent dropping her child off at a Wake County elementary school Friday morning witnessed her child being hit by a car.

According to Susan Moran with the Town of Cary, the mother called 911 around 7:30 a.m. to say her child had been hit at Davis Drive Elementary School.

The child was conscious and alert as police and EMS arrived at the scene.

Greg Thomas with Wake County public schools said the child did not appear to be injured and was taken to their personal pediatrician to be checked out.

Further details about the incident have not been released.
