Man accused of threatening Raleigh mayor on house arrest

RALEIGH

A Wake County judge decided to lower Alec Redner's bond to $75,000 total, and put him on house arrest Monday.

Redner's attorney had argued his client's online post to Mayor Nancy McFarlane was immature, but not a direct threat.

According to court documents, Redner sent the mayor an email chiding her for making a joke out of the U.S. Constitution.

He allegedly wrote, "...soon you will be on the other end of the barrel... Watch out."
