TALLAHASSEE, Florida (WTVD) -- N.C. State beat a ranked team for the first time in five years, knocking off FSU in Tallahassee 27-21.

The Seminoles kicked a field goal with just over three minutes to play to draw within a touchdown.

However, NCSU was able to use up the remaining time and secure their first ACC win.

It's the Wolfpack's first win over a ranked team since they won in Tallahassee in 2012

The Wolfpack defense set the tone forcing two punts to start the game and forcing a fumble later in the first half. State jumped out to a 10-nothing lead after a touchdown by Jaylen Samuels who stretched the ball over on 4th and goal. Jakobi Meyer added a 71-yard TD reception from Ryan Finley to take a 17-7 lead.

The Pack took advantage of the inexperience of James Blackman, the Noles true freshman making his first start at quarterback. Blackman completed 22/38 for 278 yards and one touchdown in his debut.

Florida State was playing for just the second time this season after their two previous games had been postponed due to Hurricane Irma.

NC State senior defensive end Bradley Chubb played the signature game of his career Saturday in Tallahassee, terrorizing Florida State to the tune of seven tackles, two sacks and all sorts of other mayhem.

It's what he did after the game that got the internet buzzing. Chubb ran to the Florida State logo at midfield and spit on it.

Needless to say - plenty of people noticed - and not all of them were impressed.

Following the game, Chubb, who's on a self-imposed social media hiatus during the season, issued an apology via the Pack Football twitter account.
