6-year-old struck by minivan in Johnston County in stable condition

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A six-year-old child struck by a van in Johnston County Saturday is in stable condition at WakeMed.

Troopers say the child ran across Highway 231 near Highway 96 and Covered Bridge Road around 5:30 p.m. and hit the left side of a minivan.

The driver of the minivan was not hurt and will not face any charges.
