Staff Sergeant Emanuel Pickett was laid to rest with full military honors in Wallace. Hundreds turned out for the service.
The funeral procession at the First Baptist Church included a drive past the Wallace Police Department where Pickett was an officer.
Pickett died a week ago when his base was hit with a rocket attack.
He was a member of the 1132nd Military Police Company out of Rocky Mount.
